Reflection on ES1102

1. From week 1 to week 9 of the first semester, I have learnt the skills of writing summary and reader's response. I am also more aware of various grammar mistakes.
2.I have improved on the structure of summary and reader's response. However, language is a part that takes time to improve. Thus, there is not a significant improvement in my language. In terms of content, I have learnt that more research is needed in order to make the content more reliable.
3.I would like to learn more on the structure of sentences from week 10-12, at the same time, improving my language aspect.
4.My weakness is still on language. I think reading more newspapers should help with the language. However, I often do not have much time on reading.
5. Summary: I have made all changes in the summary.
Reader's response: Have not gotten back yet.
I think audio feedback is useful and effective. It makes me more easy to understand what my mistakes are. Communication is made easier through audio feedback. In fact, when I first looked at the written feedback, I did not get what the teacher meant. It is only after I go through the audio feedback, then I realized my mistakes.I think it will be a much help if my other courses have audio feedback as well.

Reflective Essay

I joined Guzheng ensemble when i was in Year 1 of Junior College. I chose this CCA because i wanted to try something new and different. After a journey of two years in Guzheng ensemble, what i have learnt is much greater than what i have expected. It was all about team work and numerous practices that leads to a good performance. I was not a very good player in Guzheng due to my lack of music background. Yet, i did not attend every session of my CCA. JC workload was too much for me and i spent my time on studying instead of going CCA when i was supposed to go. Even when performance was around the corner, i still did not go for practices every week. It turned out that sometimes i have to "fake play" in the performance. Though the overall performance was still excellent, i did not sense the joy as much as the rest did. Only after i finished my Alevel, i then realized how much CCA has actually benefited me. From then onward, i try my best in everything i do and leave no regret. I understand that everything we do will benefit us in a certain way, and most of the time we are unable to see the benefit. If i spend more time and efforts in the CCA, i believe that i could have gained much more.
